"The
Sad and Bewildering Tale of the West Side Demise", the story of
life on a particular street corner, was written and directed by Thomas W. Campbell
and shot by filmmakers, photographers, and other artists who live around 110th
Street and Broadway in New York City. The story unfolds within and around an
historically important and beautiful building on that corner; A building that
many feel did not have to be demolished - but was.
Numerous artists contributed to the video; Veronica Szarejko shot still and
moving image, and also did voice-over and acting. Jay Frisch provided voice
over, still and moving images, and acting. Holly Leavy provided still images
and voice-over. Arnold Baker provided voice-over. Daniel Ransom provided voice-over.
Thomas W. Campbell produced the original score, and provided animation, voice,
moving and still images.
"West Side Demise" was a finalist in the entertainment division of
the Telly Awards, 2005.
