“It’s hard to find the right kind of studio for a metal sculptor. If not near impossible – in Manhattan these days. I wouldn’t be out in Bushwick… One of the landlords who owns it happened to be a metal sculptor at one point back in the day… He sort of tolerates me in a surly way out there…”
…Excerpt from the film. This film started with a trip I took with Linus to his then studio in Bushwick, New York in the fall of 2009. Six years later, after the closing of that studio it made sense to travel north to Ellenville, New York to document how he was making art in the outdoor space on a cold winter day. An artist needs his/her studio and this film is about that reality….
This is the final 2021 version. This is a world premiere. 30 minutes duration.
